There's nothing more classic and comforting than a warm chocolate chip cookie. Growing up my mom and grandma made the very best! So good in fact, that's usually what my dad gets as part of his birthday and Christmas gifts. They are a gift.
A perfect treat for your family, movie night, potluck, food for a friend, etc. These cookies are chunky yet thin, soft yet crispy. Bonus, they're super easy to make!
Ingredients:
1.5 c Flour
3/4c Sugar (I use coconut sugar)
3/4c Brown Sugar
1tsp Baking Soda
1 pinch of Salt
1c Shortening
2 Eggs
1tsp Vanilla
1 bag of Chocolate Chips (I used Cacao chips and a little less than a full bag)
1/2c Chopped Pecans (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350*. Mix together dry ingredients until combined. Mix together wet ingredients then pour into dry and mix until combined. Stir in chocolate chips (and pecans if desired). Scoop into tablespoon amounts and place on cookie sheet. Bake 9 minutes or until edges are golden. Let cool and enjoy!
